White Oak (Quercus Alba)


Status: Secure and available.

Other Common Names: 

Found in Eastern US, these members of the Fagaceae family (Quercus) can grow to 65-85 feet in height and 3-4 feet in diameter. .

Color is light to medium brown.

Course texture with medium to large pores, machines well and turns well.  Specific Gravity: .60-.81. Avg. Dry Weight:  50 pounds per cubic foot.

Used to make: Furniture, Flooring and turnings.
