American Beech (Fagus Grandifolia)


Status: Secure and available.

Other Common Names: 

Found in Eastern US, these members of the Fagceae family (Fagus) can grow to 100-130 feet in height and 3-5 feet in diameter. .

Color Medium to light brown.

Medium texture, machines well and turns well.  Specific Gravity: .54-.73. Avg. Dry Weight:  46 pounds per cubic foot.


Used to make: Furniture, Flooring and turnings.
