Bubinga (Guibourtia Spp)
Status: Secure and available.
Other Common Names:
Found in Equatorial Africa, these members of the Fabaceae family (Guibourtia) can grow to 130-150 feet in height and 3-6 feet in diameter. .
Color can vary between pinkish to reddish brown.
Very fine texture, machines well and turns well. Specific Gravity: .72-.93. Avg. Dry Weight: 58 pounds per cubic foot.
Used to make: Fine Furniture, cabinetry.
